The San Jose Sharks’ new home helmet sponsor is a hometown company.

Silicon Valley-based fintech company Aven, per the team press release, “will become the team’s Official Home Equity Credit Card Partner through the 2028-29 NHL season.”

Aven’s logo will appear on San Jose Sharks’ home helmets starting in 2026-27.

“The Sharks are our home team, and their fans are our neighbors: homeowners in a community that has given us our start,” Sadi Khan, co-founder and CEO of Aven, said. “We built Aven in Silicon Valley, and we’re proud to support the team and the community we call home at the start of an exciting era for the franchise.”

This partnership also extends to branding across SAP Center, Sharks Ice at San Jose, digital and broadcast platforms, and Sharks Foundation.

Both the San Jose Sharks and Aven are clearly excited about the future.

The Sharks, led by young superstar Macklin Celebrini, have legitimate hopes to return to the playoff picture for the first time since 2019.

Aven is the “first credit card backed by home equity”. Per the company website, “Aven’s mission is to deliver the lowest-cost and most transparent access to capital at scale. By giving people credit for what they own, we’ve saved our customers millions — and we’re just getting started.”

With that in mind, “We Back the Future” is the theme of the Sharks and Aven’s joint creative campaign.

The San Jose Sharks last had a home helmet sponsor, SAP, during the 2020-21 campaign. Since 2021-22, SAP has sponsored the team’s road helmets and will continue to do this season.
