Fresno mail carrier arrested for not delivering 8,500 letters

A Fresno mail carrier has been arrested for not delivering more than 8,500 pieces of mail that he kept. 

U.S. Attorney Eric Grant announced Ronald Juckno, 53, was charged with keeping and failing to deliver the mail. 

Driving the news: The federal indictment states that Juckno was found with more than 8,500 pieces of mail in his possession that he failed to deliver. 

The mail included items including California EDD correspondence, financial records, insurance records, medical correspondence, tax records and utility bills. 

Juckno was placed on leave from the postal service and has since resigned. 

What we’re watching: If Juckno is convicted, he faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
