KHSD, Bakersfield police say social media school threats were found not credible

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Kern High School District and Bakersfield police investigated social media threats toward Bakersfield High School and found them not credible, though additional security was added as a precaution.

The Kern High School District is aware of threats circulating on social media.

The Kern High School District Police and Bakersfield Police Department investigated the threats and found them not credible.

Officials with KHSD said, “Out of an abundance of caution, additional security and police presence were in place throughout the day.”

KHSD emphasized that safety is the top priority and appreciated the efforts of the school community for expressing their concerns and helping keep schools safe.

“A reminder, if you see something, say something,” said in the release.
