BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A 67-year-old Bakersfield man was arrested in Paso Robles within an hour after allegedly robbing a Wells Fargo bank in Grover Beach Monday afternoon.
The Grover Beach Police Department said on Monday, September 14, 2026, at around 12:01 p.m., officers were called to a reported bank robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank located at 1580 W. Grand in Grover Beach.
Officers arrived on scene within three minutes of being dispatched.
When officers arrived, they learned that the suspect passed a note declaring he was robbing the bank. No weapons were seen, according to police.
Police said the teller provided the suspect with an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect left out the east side doors on foot.
Using Grover Beach community cameras (CCTV) near the bank and automated license plate reader technology, the suspect and suspect vehicle were identified within minutes.
This information was relayed to law enforcement agencies.
Grover Beach police said at around 12:51 p.m., a deputy with the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office found the suspect vehicle near Highway 101 and Highway 46 in Paso Robles.
After conducting a high-risk traffic stop, the suspect was arrested without incident.
The suspect was identified as 67-year-old Brent David Muir of Bakersfield. He was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on robbery and burglary charges.
