Family-owned and made in Orange County, Custom Comfort is Register readers’ pick for best mattress store for the eighth year in a row. With a factory in Orange and six out of eight Custom Comfort stores in the county, the company has a home team advantage, but that’s not all.

“We pride ourselves on service. We don’t pay our staff on commission because we want them to fit the client or listen,” says Gary Trudell, who founded Custom Comfort with his brother. “At the end of the day, it’s that we care for our clients. Our goal is to bring comfort to the clients that we’re looking to serve. It’s service. Treating people with respect.”

It might also be that Custom Comfort is able to produce the best possible product at varying price points. You may have heard about Custom Comfort’s luxury mattresses, but the company also offers the Select Collection of budget-friendly mattresses that are still traditionally built with materials sourced in the United States.
