A fire in an underground parking garage prompted an evacuation from a Fresno County government office.
Fresno Fire Department spokesperson Josh Sellers said a fire broke out at the parking garage near Tulare Street and Van Ness Avenue around 9 a.m. Wednesday.
A fire sprinkler system helped keep the fire under control as firefighters worked to access the blaze with hose lines, Sellers said.
One car was damaged and no one was injured, though the garage filled with smoke.
About two dozen people were evacuated from offices at the Fresno Council of Governments building. The old Club One Casino and Radisson Hotel are vacant and weren’t impacted, Sellers said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
