League of Mexican American Women hosts special book sale

FRESNO, Calif., (KFSN) — Books flew off the shelves at a special book sale hosted by the League of Mexican American Women.

Community members came out to shop for new and gently used books for their next great read while supporting an important cause.

All proceeds from the sale benefit Thomas Elementary’s Amigos Unidos Club.

The league is also preparing fo a very special milestone, the 50th anniversary of the Fiesta Navideña gala.

“Last year, we were able to give out about $25,000 in scholarships,” says League of Mexican American Women President Martha Espinosa. “Every year, we aim to give out more money because we know that the need is there, especially in our community, so we’re always trying to empower the next generation, and this is a small way that we can do that “
