Dine and Dish: Jubel Rolling Lumpia truck

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — The Jubel Rolling Lumpia truck offers a taste of the Philippines from Shaw and Blackstone in north Fresno.

“They’re really happy that we can share our culture, our food, authentic Filipino food to our community,” says co-owner Marjorie Gamueda.

Her husband, Junard Serdenia, started us with chicken BBQ and pork BBQ.

Spices are mixed with sweet banana ketchup.

“This is our best seller,” Junard said.

“That is from the Philippines,” Marjorie said. “We learned that from our parents back home.”

They also showed us their bowls. People can choose pancit itself or rice, or have it half and half.

Pancit is noodles.

The bowl comes with lumpia, or egg rolls.

You can either have chicken or pork.

The name of the food truck, Jubel, is a combo as well.

“My first name and my business partner’s name,” Junard said. “We combine it together. Junard and Abel.”

“They like it so much because cooking is their passion,” Marjorie said.

Junard and Abel plate all the traditional favorites like kaldereta.

“It has a tomato sauce, the beef itself, oyster sauce, bell pepper, potato,” Marjorie said.

Marjorie, Junard and Abel love introducing people to something new, like crispy pata and lechon kawali — deep-fried pork belly with crispy skin.

“They say it’s the first time they’ve tried Filipino food,” Junard said.

The truck stands out with cool artwork depicting a jeepney, a popular mode of transportation in the Philippines.
