Police blocked off an area by Dickey Playground on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026 after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle.

A pedestrian was seriously injured Saturday after being struck by a vehicle near downtown Fresno.
The crash happened at 8:35 p.m. at N. Calaveras Street and E. Voorman Avenue, next to Dickey Playground.
Officers arrived and found the pedestrian injured after he had been walking east on Voorman Avenue.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital. His condition was unknown.
Fresno police Lt. Justin Hoagland said investigators are determining whether the collision was intentional. Officers are canvassing the area for surveillance video and speaking with witnesses.
