(FOX40.COM) — A man is facing 650-years-to-life in prison after being convicted of 16 counts of child sexual assault earlier this week.
According to the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office, Michael Jones committed hundreds of acts of sexual abuse against his first victim starting when she was 11 years old.
When the girl told someone about the abuse, Jones went into hiding for seven years, during which he began sexually assaulting a 9-year-old, the DA’s office said.
Jones is set to be sentenced on Oct. 15 by Judge Kenneth Brody.
