FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — Eight people are now without a home after a large apartment fire on Sunday morning in Fresno.

The Fresno Fire Department says firefighters were called out around 6 AM to an apartment complex on Sussex Avenue, near Blackstone and Ashlan Avenues, for reports of a fire.
When they arrived, they found heavy flames coming from the roof of the building.
A second alarm was called and 43 firefighters responded in total to help with the fire.

Crews confirmed that everybody was out of the building.
The fire was eventually put out and left extensive damage to the building.
In total, eight apartments were destroyed, displacing nine people.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
