KC Honor Flight 54 trip canceled; veterans & guardians to get priority for April 2027 trip

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Kern County Honor Flight 54 announced that it has canceled their trip.

Veterans and their guardians were at Meadows Field Monday morning and were on the plane.

Kern County Honor Flight told Eyewitness News that the airport did not have the required piece called a “towbar.” A spokesperson said they were going to wait hours for one to come from Fresno, which did not come.

By then, the pilots timed out and would need new pilots. Overall, those on board would not reach the hotel until early morning.

Kern County Honor Flight said veterans and guardians on the trip will have priority for April 2027. The exact dates will be announced at another time.
