A 23-year-old Garden Grove man involved in a crash that killed a 19-year-old man nearly three years ago made his first appearance in court Thursday.
Alexis David Escobar was charged Sept. 8 with gross vehicular manslaughter and two counts of reckless driving causing injury to a passenger, all felonies. He was arrested Tuesday and made his first appearance in court in the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana Thursday, where his arraignment was rescheduled for Nov. 10 in the West Justice Center in Westminster.
Escobar is accused of killing 19-year-old Ray Eusebio of Garden Grove in a collision with a tree in the 12900 block of Newhope Street Oct. 29, 2023.
The crash happened just after midnight when the car Escobar was driving slammed into a tree, killing Eusebio and injuring an 18-year-old man from Anaheim and a 17-year-old girl from Anaheim, according to police.
