Meghan Markle is reportedly desperate to leave the UK, as she is seemingly missing her home in Montecito, California. For those unversed, the Sussexes privately flew from California to Birmingham on August 26. The couple plans on staying in the UK for an extended period of time in a private, non-royal home. A source explained that although the former actress is missing her life in the U.S., she believes admitting it out loud would be a failure on her part.
Source says Meghan Markle misses her California life while Archie and Lilibet settle into Britain
Sources dished to Closer that Meghan Markle is reportedly “homesick” for Montecito while she and her children settle in the UK. An insider explained that Markle agreed to the UK move to make Harry happy. However, this is turning out to be tougher for her than she expected. She reportedly misses her “mom” and her freedom in California.
Moreover, Markle is “nervous” about being out in England due to her contentious relationship with the British media and public in general. “Whereas she’s much more nervous about being out in public in England, so there’s a real sense of isolation,” the source explained.
Furthermore, Harry and Meghan are dealing with intense “financial stress,” and she’s definitely feeling the weight of it. Moreover, the Sussexes’ return to the UK hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing for the couple. Shortly after their arrival, King Charles issued a letter via the top palace official, the Lord Chamberlain, asserting that the Sussexes will remain private citizens (via BBC).
The letter reiterated that Harry and Meghan remain non-working royals and that their HRH styles remain in abeyance and are not used. A spokesperson for the Sussexes said they were “a little surprised not to have been told about this in advance.”
Not only that, the couple abruptly withdrew their children, Archie and Lilibet, from their UK-based school, citing security concerns. As per Closer, the Duchess of Sussex is ready to fly back to the U.S. this instant. However, she realises that moving back to Montecito now would only be an “admission of failure.” Moreover, she is trying to get the kids settled in the UK and also support Harry as he hopes to resolve issues with the royal family.
