Sanger man arrested after $3,500 worth of stolen citrus trees recovered

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (FOX26) — A Sanger man was arrested after detectives recovered 10 citrus trees reported stolen from a Fresno County grower.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office says the trees were stolen on September 19th from a property near North and Temperance avenues.

Detectives with the Agricultural Crime Task Force developed a lead and later served a search warrant at a home near 8th and I streets in Sanger.

Investigators recovered 10 citrus trees valued at approximately $3,500.

56-year-old Martin Sanchez of Sanger was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail on a felony grand theft charge.

He has since posted $10,000 bond and was released pending a future court date.
