OAKLAND CITY, Ind. (WFIE) – Former employees of Oakland City University say the administration has quote “gone silent” as they still await payment from months ago.
One employee says he’s still waiting for two paychecks plus vacation time.
He says OCU has shut off power to their buildings, and they aren’t responding to his wage claim.
Another employee, who was supposed to be paid over 12 months for a nine-month contract, says he also hasn’t been paid.
We reached out to OCU President Dr. Ron Dempsy Tuesday morning to ask for updates.
He said he would get back to us this week.

More than 100 employees were laid off in May, and the university suspended all undergraduate programs.
Most employees missed a total of four paychecks after the layoffs. Some of that money was eventually paid after several weeks.
