Brown water flooded parts of downtown San Diego and Seaport Village on Tuesday afternoon following a water main break.
The water main break occurred at 789 W Harbor Dr. Ste 158, in front of Eddie V’s Prime Seafood Restaurant, the city of San Diego said. A 16-inch water pipe failed and burst, according to the city, causing some streets in nearby downtown to flood.
A large hole could be seen where crews have been working on fixing the burst pipe.

Footage from SanDiegoWebCam shows people continuing to walk across the pier near the Tuna Harbor Dockside Market on Tuesday afternoon as the brown water spread further out to sea.
Even as water filled the sidewalk, people were seen sitting at a restaurant near the Shorebird restaurant in Seaport Village, which is built just above the bay water.
Restaurants Eddie V’s, Puesto and The Cheesecake Factory were shut down. A hostess at The Cheesecake Factory told NBC 7 they had no water in their bathrooms.
Most restaurants, snack shops and stores appeared to be open for business at Seaport Village. Some were closed as of the afternoon.
By the evening, the entrance to Seaport Village was closed for the time being, city crews said. The eastbound lane of Harbor Drive had to be closed, but crews hope to open Harbor Drive back up by Tuesday evening.
