The Vegas Golden Knights defeated the San Jose Sharks, 2-1, in a shootout on Tuesday night at SAP Center in their final road game this preseason.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
After two scoreless periods, Michael Misa got the Sharks on the board first with a power-play goal at 4:18 of the third frame. Just over four minutes later, Alexander Holtz responded with a top-shelf tally from the slot that went past Yaroslav Askarov to pull the game even, 1-1. Neither team found the back of the net for the remainder of regulation or overtime, sending the contest to a shootout. Braeden Bowman earned the shootout winner to give Vegas back-to-back victories to open the preseason. Carter Hart made 28 saves plus two shootout denials to backstop the Golden Knights in the win.
