West Sacramento’s first Capitol Cake Swap is this weekend. How it works
WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Dessert enthusiasts can look forward to the first Capitol Cake Swap on Sunday at Drake’s: The Barn in West Sacramento.
Marybeth Bizjak and Janet McDonald joined KCRA 3 to share more about the event.
Bizjak said the idea was borrowed from Cake Picnic in San Francisco. Tickets cost $30 and attendees should bring a cake that they either bought or baked.
You then get a box and can choose up to eight slices of cake from a row of different cakes at the event.
“We’re trying to have people just take slices so everybody can taste as many as they want,” McDonald said.
Proceeds support the Les Dames d’Escoffier International, which works to advance women in the fields of food, agriculture, fine beverage and hospitality.
