San Diego’s hot and humid summer has led to more mosquitos. The county is tracking the highest number of West Nile virus cases in a decade.
County inspectors say one of the hot spots right now is Coronado, which is why they’re preparing to spray a mist-pesticide treatment on about 6,000 lots.
The spray will take place overnight Friday and Saturday between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. The area being targeted includes from Second Street in the north to Ocean Boulevard in the south, F Avenue in the west, and Glorietta Boulevard to the east.

Additional treatments may come the following week, depending on how things go, the county said.
Thus far, 11 people in the county have contracted West Nile virus, and at least three of them are from Coronado, the county said.
