BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Adventist Health Bakersfield is set to provide free childhood immunization opportunities throughout the month of October.

The mobile clinics are free and open to the public. Immunizations are for children under the age of 18 and who are uninsured, enrolled in Medi-Cal or are of American Indian or Native Alaskan descent, officials said.

Those enrolled in Medi-Cal need to bring their Medi-Cal card. Immunization cards are also required for all visits.

Parents with children over the age of 5 can make an appointment by calling 661-869-6749, Adventist Health said.

Appointments aren’t needed for children 5 years old or younger and they will be given priority due to grant funding from First 5 Kern.

Free Hemoglobin testing is available for children and expectant or postpartum mothers, according to officials. A WIC, school or doctor’s referral is required.

The clinics are scheduled to be at the following times and locations:

Thursday, Oct. 1: Apple Market parking lot at 3815 Niles St. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 5: Food Maxx parking lot at 4400 Ming Ave. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 7: CMIP Office (appointment only) from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 8: CMIP Office (appointment only) from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 13: Greenfield Family Resource Center parking lot at 5400 Monitor St. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 14: Kern County Department of Human Services parking lot at 100 E. California Ave. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 16: CMIP Office (appointment only) from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 19: Kern Christian Center parking lot at 4701 Gosford Rd. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 20: La Hacienda Market parking lot at 315 James St. from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 21: Adventist Health Bakersfield parking lot at 2801 Chester Ave. from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 26: NOR Riverview Park parking lot at 437 Willow Dr. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 28: New Life Church parking lot at 4201 Stine Rd. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 29: CMIP Office (appointment only) from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Mobile clinics will always close for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to noon, but will close between 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month.

Registration could close 30 minutes before clinic closing times, Adventist Health said.
