NorCal forecast: Warm Thursday, Milder with a breeze Friday

Valley highs will be back in the 90s Thursday afternoon. A delta breeze will kick in in the evening.

Wednesday was only Sacramento fourth day in the 90s so far this month. Thursday will be another warm day but cooler weather will start moving in Friday.

A couple of weather systems will pass by to the north Friday and Sunday. This will increase the onshore breeze both of those days. Gusts of 30 mph are likely in the Sierra. Gusts to 25 mph are possible in the delta.

Overall though the weekend will be pleasant with lots of sun Saturday and scattered clouds on Sunday. Sunday’s highs will stay int he 70s in the lower elevations.

Next week will gradually warm up with 90s possible again as October begins.

Thursday forecast

Thursday will be the warmest day of the week with highs in the low to mid 90s in the Valley. A delta breeze will kick in in the evening and start to cool things down for the end of the week.

Cooler air will be here for the weekend. Friday and Sunday will be breezy int he Valley and Sierra.

Friday afternoon winds

There will be a noticeable breeze in the Valley and Sierra Friday afternoon as a weather system passes to the north.

Hurricane Polo forecast

Major hurricane Polo continues to skim the west coast of Mexico this week. The storm will weaken as it turns north this weekend. Landfall is possible north of Cabo in Baja California early next week.

Polo is generating rough surf in the east Pacific. Large swells are expected at the Southern California coast starting this weekend.

Foothills & Sierra 7 day forecast

Thursday will be another warm day but the return of a westerly breeze on Friday will bring in cooler air. Gusts on the east slope of the Sierra could top 30 mph Friday and Sunday.

Valley 7 day forecast

The return of an onshore breeze will bring temperatures down for the weekend. October may start off warm with Valley highs in the 90s late next week.
