There are no monster-packed hallways nor strange characters lurking at the edges of the shadows: Heritage Square Museum‘s daytime Hallowe’en Faire, which will frolic on the actual Oct. 31 holiday, is about atmosphere, vintage stories, throwback decorations, and admiring the historical park’s Victorian mansions.

The hours of the event tell the story: It begins at 11 a.m. and wraps at 3:30 p.m., giving guests the opportunity to head home and prepare for a night of trick-or-treating or other Halloween-y adventures.

This is a sunny and high-spirited gathering that will “… explore Halloween’s evolution from the 1880’s through the 1950’s with a day of historical Halloween party displays, penny dreadful storytelling, trick-or-treating and more!”

A ticket is $7.18 and the event may sell out well ahead of time, given the rise and rise of Heritage Square’s well-earned reputation as an aura-filled October destination.

There are other ensorcelled events happening at the Arroyo Parkway-close destination in the weeks ahead, including ballet performances inspired by “Little Women,” Street Food Cinema’s Boo-ze, Bites, and Frights, a paranormal adventure called Heritage Square Museum: After Dark, and the find-filled Magic Market’s Bewitched.

Dates, details, prices, and more are materializing on the Heritage Square soon-to-come page.
