CHICO, Calif. – The Chico Police Department tells Action News Now that officers responded to the 700 block of Nord Avenue after receiving an emergency call reporting a gunshot wound.
According to authorities, the man who was found with the non-life-threatening wound was suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Chico Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man with a non-life-threatening injury on Monday.
Authorities say that when officers with the Chico Police Department were clearing a call for service in the area of W. 11th Street and Broadway, dispatch received a emergency call reporting a gunshot wound in the area of Nord Avenue and W. Sacramento Avenue.
Officers immediately responded to the area where the shooting occurred.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers located a adult male who was suffering from non-life-threatening injuries sustained from an apparent gunshot wound.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
The Chico Police Department advises the public to use caution as officers continue their work at the scene of the shooting.
