The sale follows the actress’ previous comments about her plans to eventually leave the United States
Angelina Jolie’s Los Angeles mansion has officially sold for $24.75 million after four months of sitting on the market.
On Sept. 24, Jon Grauman and Ernie Carswell, Jolie’s realtors, made a post to Instagram announcing the sale of the estate. Originally belonging to Cecil B. DeMille — American director and co-founder of what is now known as Paramount — the 11,000-square-foot property contains 6 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. Beyond that, the luxury living includes a gym, library, pool, guest house, tea house and wine cellar.
The home sits on DeMille Drive, overlooking Griffith Observatory and the Hollywood Hills. The identity of the buyer is not known, though the California Post reported that Madonna expressed interest in the property after selling her own Los Angeles residence in 2023.
Jolie purchased the property for $24.5 million in 2017, using the home as her primary residence until her youngest children turned 18 following her separation from actor Brad Pitt.
The actress and humanitarian originally listed the property for $29.9 million in May – two months prior to the 18th birthday of her twins Vivienne and Knox – and has steadily dropped the price.
“I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they’re 18, I’ll be able to leave,” Jolie explained to The Hollywood Reporter. “[After Los Angeles,] I’ll spend a lot of time in Cambodia. I’ll spend time visiting my family members wherever they may be in the world.”
