TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — A man is dead and a suspect is in custody following a shooting in the Tule River Reservation.
The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office says just after 5:30 p.m. Sunday, deputies were called to the reservation for a shooting.
The Tule River Tribal Police Department had urged residents to avoid North Reservation Road to Million Dollar Bridge for the shooting.
When deputies arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
Deputies say they then tracked down the suspect to a nearby home and took him into custody.
Tribal Police have now clarified that the shooting was never an active shooting incident.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
