Two men killed Monday morning in a rural Fresno County crash have been identified.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims as Diego Garcia Tepec, 56, and Juan Ortega Juarez, 57.

The victims were in the same vehicle, a Nissan Sentra, and Tepec — of Fresno — was driving.

Tepec and Juarez died Monday morning after a Honda Civic rear-ended the Nissan. The vehicles were traveling west near Lincoln and Cornelia avenues, west of Easton.

The California Highway Patrol said visibility was reduced near the site of the crash due to a dust cloud caused by almond harvesting operations, prompting hazardous driving conditions.

The Honda driver was hospitalized with minor-to-moderate injuries.
