On Thursday at 12:29 a.m. the NWS San Diego CA released an extreme heat warning valid from Friday 10 a.m. until Thursday 8 p.m. for San Diego County Coastal Areas.

The NWS informs, “Dangerously hot conditions with high temperatures ranging from the mid 80s to lower 90s near the coast to the mid 90s to around 100 for the mesas and other higher coastal terrain expected. Nights will be very warm with low temperatures mostly in the lower to mid 70s.”

“Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events,” states the NWS.

This warning is in effect until Oct. 8 at 8 p.m.

If someone experiences heat-related symptoms, promptly relocate them to a cool and shaded spot. In case of an emergency, dial 911.
