The FBI has added a man with ties to Sacramento to its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, saying he is wanted for his alleged involvement in an international organized crime group.
Satinderjeet Singh, also known as Goldy Brar, was added to the list Sept. 28. The FBI says Singh has ties to Sacramento and Fresno, as well as Canada, India and Mexico.
Officials say Singh is the alleged North American leader of the Lawrence Bishnoi Organized Crime Group, which the FBI says has been involved in violent acts across Southern California, the United States and Canada.
The FBI alleges those acts include targeted assassinations, shootings, murders, kidnappings, extortion, assaults and the trafficking of narcotics and weapons.
Singh was charged in federal court in Los Angeles with racketeer influenced and corrupt organizations conspiracy; conspiracy to interfere with and attempt to interfere with commerce by extortion; and conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances.
The FBI said, “Satinderjeep Singh, also known as Goldy Brar, is a dangerous individual, and the FBI and other agencies our partners have made it our priority to apprehend him, which is why we’re adding him to the FBI’s list of Top Ten fugitives and offering a reward of up to $1 million dollars for his capture,” said FBI Los Angeles Field Office Assistant Director in Charge Patrick Grandy.
Officials say the case is part of Operation Hardball, a years-long federal investigation into India-based transnational organized crime groups. On July 7, federal prosecutors announced three indictments charging 37 defendants connected to three groups.
The FBI said 24 of those federal defendants had been arrested or were already in custody at the time of the announcement. Four fugitive defendants have since been captured, while one has been determined to be deceased.
Five fugitives remain wanted, including Singh.
The FBI alleges Singh was a lieutenant in the Bishnoi enterprise and helped direct its members and associates. One allegation involves the 2023 assassination of a prominent political and religious leader in Canada.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to Singh’s arrest.
