FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — Fresno police arrested a 57-year-old man after officers responding to a reported commercial burglary found him inside a business with smashed windows and a fire burning inside.

The Fresno Police Department received a 911 call about a possible burglary at a business near East Kings Canyon Avenue and South Clovis Avenue.

When officers arrived, they said the man was still inside the business and surrounded the building.

They found two smashed windows on the north side of the building, and then flames were seen coming from a room on the east side of the building.

The Fresno Police Department’s Air Support Unit, AIR1 team members arrived and assisted at the scene.

Officers used a key provided by the reporting party to enter the building and take the suspect into custody.

Police said the suspect had a walkie-talkie that belonged to the business.

The suspect, identified as 57-year-old James Lowe, was arrested on charges including burglary, arson, trespassing, vandalism, and resisting or delaying an officer.
