A Del Rey man could face petty theft charges after surveillance cameras caught a pomegranate theft from a Fresno County orchard.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office says deputies received a report on Sept. 28 of fruit being stolen from an orchard near Lincoln and McCall avenues in Del Rey.
Investigators say cameras mounted on a mobile solar surveillance trailer recorded a man taking pomegranates from trees and filling several bags.

Agricultural Crimes Task Force detectives identified the suspect as 52-year-old Leopoldo Leon Zaragoza, who authorities say lives less than a mile from the orchard.
Detectives submitted petty theft charges to the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office, which is reviewing the case.
The Sheriff’s Office is encouraging farmers to use surveillance systems to help protect their property.
