OAKLAND — An Emeryville man has been charged with trafficking a woman while on probation for stealing money from a sex buyer last year, court records show.
Luis Andrew Silva, 25, was charged with human trafficking, pimping, pandering and domestic violence, and has been released from jail after pleading not guilty on Sept. 28, records show. Silva was charged last year with robbery in an alleged scheme to set up sex buyers with a woman, but received a two-year probation term after agreeing to plead no contest to grand theft.
This time around, a woman accused Silva of threatening to kill her and her kids if she didn’t agree to be his prostitute. An Oakland police investigator said the threats also involved physical violence.
“During this time (Silva) would threaten (the woman) by pointing and hitting (her) with a black handgun in the face and head,” police allege in the arrest report. “(Silva) would also choke (her) until she passed out.”
The next court date has been set for Oct. 28.
In Silva’s 2025 case, police alleged that his co-defendant was picked up by a man and brought him to a local Motel 6, where Silva robbed him at gunpoint for $300 and car keys. Silva’s probation was set to expire in late 2027, records show.
