The U.S. Army said it has awarded missile prototype development contracts to five companies, including Anduril Industries of Costa Mesa and Mach Industries of Huntington Beach. Financial details were not released.

Under the agreements, each company will develop prototype missiles capable of launching from the Army’s HIMARS system and striking sea-borne and land targets at ranges of 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) or greater.

The Army said this week it will decide on further possible agreements in fiscal year 2028.

The other companies receiving the agreements were Castelion, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, and RTX (formerly Raytheon).
