A search is underway for a man who jumped into the Sacramento River while officers were trying to apprehend him Friday morning.
Sacramento police said officers responded just after 7:30 a.m. to a report of a stolen bicycle in the 300 block of K Street. Officers located the male suspect, who then jumped into the river.
West Sacramento police said they assisted Sacramento officers with the apprehension near the Tower Bridge.
Officers and Sacramento Fire Department crews are searching the river for the suspect, who has not resurfaced.
The search remains ongoing.
This is a developing story.
