“We just love the Mississippi Gulf Coast. So I contacted some of the guys and said, hey look, let’s meet up. And then one of the guys said, hey, we’ll call it Kings on the Coast. And I’m like, hey, that’s perfect,” LeJeune said.
LeJeune said the club has grown to 72 chapters worldwide, with several in Mississippi.
“We get waves. We get honks. I get people stopping me at the red lights, jumping out, wanting to know if they can take a picture. It’s just, it’s great,” LeJeune said.

Neighbor Jules Gallien does not own a Cadillac, but he walked over for his second year, saying LeJeune’s crew made him feel welcome.
“This has just been, again, a tremendous boost to the community, not only the community, the entire coast at this time for the Cruisin’ the Coast,” Gallien said.

Steve Oakins came from Minnesota for his fifth Cruisin’ the Coast, showing off his 1967 Cadillac Coupe de Ville with a sound system that lives up to its name.
“It’s really loud. I went way overboard. The name of the car is Over Budget. The sound system got a little out of hand. I like driving fast and listening to loud music, and it’s both,” Oakins said.
Oakins said his car caught the eye of a football coach.
“One of them was, hey, my man, how much? And I looked at who it was. It’s Coach Deion Sanders. Neon Deion Sanders wants to buy my car. It’s pretty cool,” Oakins said.

Rain or not, the crowd kept gathering, admiring each other’s rides.
“I couldn’t have handpicked a better community to move into than Long Beach. We love it here. We’re probably going to end up retiring here. Thank you, Long Beach. We love y’all,” LeJeune said.
LeJeune hopes Kings on the Coast keeps growing for years to come.
