A married couple fatally shot outside their Oakland hills home Friday have been identified by neighbors and public records the couple behind the Berkeley-based women’s fashion company Bryn Walker.
Oakland police have not officially released the victims’ names. They said Friday that a 61-year-old man and 63-year-old woman were found with gunshot wounds outside a home on Panoramic Way near the Berkeley border. Despite lifesaving efforts, both died at the scene.
The shooting was reported around 10:43 a.m. Friday, according to Oakland police and CBS San Francisco reporting. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
Police said there was no indication of an ongoing threat to the neighborhood and that investigators were not looking for anyone at large. Assistant Chief Casey Johnson said investigators had not ruled out a possible murder-suicide.
The identification of the couple as Bryan and Michelle Walker was reported by multiple Bay Area news organizations, based on public records, neighbors and other sources.

The home is in Oakland, just east of the UC Berkeley campus and close to the Berkeley city line. The property has an Oakland location but a Berkeley mailing address.
The clothing company Bryn Walker describes itself as a Berkeley-based fashion brand founded in 1992. The company’s website says it designs and produces clothing in the Bay Area and wholesales to about 1,000 boutiques nationwide.
The company lists stores in Berkeley and Vineyard Haven, Mass., on its website.
Neighbors described the couple to local news outlets as longtime residents who generally kept a low profile. One neighbor told CBS San Francisco that residents heard two gunshots.
The shooting drew a large police response Friday, with Oakland and Berkeley officers at the scene.
Police have not publicly described a motive or said who fired the gun. The investigation remains active.
