A Morgan Hill man was arrested Oct. 3 after he drove his dying wife to the hospital and told authorities he had killed the woman, police said.
About 9:20am, San Jose Police notified the Morgan Hill Police Department that the man, Roy Anthony Lopez, 37, had arrived at Good Samaritan Hospital and said he had killed his wife, MHPD said in a press release.
Authorities located an adult female victim inside a vehicle parked at the hospital, police said. Paramedics provided emergency care but the woman was pronounced dead.
San Jose Police detained Lopez until Morgan Hill Police officers arrived. They took him into custody and transported him to Morgan Hill for questioning, police said.
Lopez was later booked at Santa Clara County Jail on a charge of murder, police said.
The police investigation found that the violent incident happened at a home on the 1100 block of Vintage Lane in Morgan Hill. Police swept the residence and located three young children ages 3, 6 and 14, according to police.
The children were later released to the custody of the Santa Clara County Department of Family and Children’s Services, authorities said.
“The Morgan Hill Police Department extends its heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones during this difficult time,” says the press release.
