Authorities ruled the cause of death of a woman whose body was found in the ocean off the coast of La Jolla in July as an accidental drowning.
The autopsy showed signs of drowning for the woman identified by authorities as 26-year-old Bryn Waite.
Waite was spotted floating in the water offshore from La Jolla Shores Beach on the morning of July 22, 2026, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Lifeguards pulled her to shore, where she was pronounced dead shortly after 9:30 a.m., the agency reported.
A 53-year-old man’s body was found Sunday morning near Carlsbad. A 26-year-old woman’s body, which was found washed ashore on Wednesday, has been identified.
