SAN FRANCISCO — The twice-postponed Lionel Richie and Earth, Wind & Fire concert at Chase Center has officially been canceled.

Ticket holders on Wednesday received a Ticketmaster notification informing them that the event producer, Live Nation, had canceled the San Francisco stop of the Sing a Song All Night Long Tour. No reason was given.

The concert was originally scheduled for Aug. 6 but was postponed after Earth, Wind & Fire drummer John Paris experienced a medical emergency and was hospitalized in intensive care.

A fundraiser was later launched to help Paris’ family with expenses related to his hospitalization. According to an Oct. 2 update on Facebook, Paris is out of intensive care, in his own room and in stable condition.

The Chase Center show was rescheduled for Sept. 26, but that date was also postponed after Richie underwent a procedure to treat atrial fibrillation. His manager said he would take time away from performing to recover.

Richie had required medical attention earlier in the tour as well, including after feeling faint and following an Aug. 29 performance.

Ticketmaster’s cancelation notice said refunds will be issued to the original method of payment after funds are received from the event organizer and should appear within 14 to 21 days.

Richie is scheduled to return to the stage for his King of Hearts residency at Wynn Las Vegas, with dates beginning Oct. 14.

Earth, Wind & Fire, meanwhile, has additional performances scheduled for late 2026 and a run of U.S. dates beginning in April 2027.
