There’s a new push to address California’s growing drunk driving crisis. A recent investigation found DUI deaths in the state have risen more than 50% over the past decade, claiming about 1,300 lives each year, more than double the national average. NewsNation investigative correspondent Rich McHugh spoke with a mother whose teenage son was killed by an alleged drunk driver who had a prior DUI charge. Now, she’s urging Gov. Gavin Newsom to enact tougher DUI laws to prevent more tragedies.
