The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are expected to take to the skies Thursday for a practice session ahead of three straight days of San Francisco Fleet Week air shows.
People in San Francisco, specifically the north side of the city, will likely hear and spot the fighter jets buzzing the area.
Fleet Week air shows, headlined by the Blue Angels, are scheduled to take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Blue Angels are known for extreme aerobatics precision, flying as close as about 18 inches apart while reaching speeds of up to 700 mph.
Blue Angels officers and enlisted team members will hold jet-side interviews at Oakland’s airport before Thursday’s practice.
The Blue Angels did not perform during last year’s Fleet Week due to the federal government shutdown.
