If you’re like me you appreciate the balance of fun, uniqueness and resiliency.

That is why a spot at Cervantes Plaza along Freeport Boulevard in Sacramento is so eye-catching.

Along the sidewalk is a balancing act that is hard to miss.

It’s a work of art from Tony Natsoulas titled, “Balancing Act, Too”.

And the story behind it balances a unique visuals with a narrative of survival.

That’s because when it was originally commission in 1993 for $55,000, it’s home was in the Downtown Plaza long before the Golden 1 Center was built.

But once construction of the new arena was approved, the sculpture was moved into storage in 2014.

The story didn’t end there.

The Sacramento Kings ultimately donated the artwork back to the city and the sculpture for its new home at Cervantes Plaza Park.
