Highway 70 has reopened through Marysville after a semi-truck slammed into a railroad trestle Monday morning and shut down the highway for several hours.

Caltrans said both directions reopened Monday afternoon near 24th Street. The highway had been closed since the crash was reported around 10:40 a.m.

The semi struck the railroad trestle spanning the highway, prompting the closure while crews responded and the scene was cleared.

The trestle has been hit by big rigs multiple times over the years, including notable crashes in 2023, 2022 and 2016.
