FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — The Fresno Discovery Center is expanding access to science through a partnership with Fresno Unified School District’s after-school programs.
The collaboration aims to provide students with additional opportunities to engage in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics, or STEAM, activities. Educators at the center recently shared some of the hands-on learning experiences available to students.
The center’s exhibits include a farmers market display where children can practice shopping and learn to count money.
The center is also preparing for its upcoming “Tricks and Treats” event on Saturday. The event will feature performers, games and food trucks. Attendees are encouraged to bring dogs in costume to participate in a contest. Tickets cost $2.
Registration is also open for the Discovery Center’s Thanksgiving break camp, scheduled for Nov. 23-25.
