The high-profile design house is now open on Melrose Avenue

L.A.-based, celebrity-loved interior design retailer Lulu and Georgia is entering its next chapter.

Founded in 2012, the previously online-only home purveyor — which counts Mandy Moore, Kate Hudson, Nina Dobrev and Este Haim as clients — has opened the doors to its first Los Angeles showroom in West Hollywood.

“After more than a decade as a digitally native brand, this showroom is a major milestone for us,” said Sara Sugarman, founder and CEO of Lulu and Georgia.

Sugarman, an Angeleno herself, knows the importance of community connection. She was inspired to start Lulu and Georgia by her childhood spent around her family’s decorative carpet business. Sugarman chose the showroom’s West Hollywood location, wanting to reconnect with where her family’s business once stood.

“We’ve heard a growing desire from our community to engage with our world in person, to feel materials, understand scale, and receive real-time guidance from experts they trust,” she said.

Much like the brand’s designs, every aspect of the showroom is intentional. After entering through a courtyard, a mixture of modern and traditional pieces greet guests. Vintage-inspired floral wallpaper is paired with modern lamps and side tables, while large ornate mirrors lean against walls; the space is meant to feel lived in. From there, the showroom winds through living and dining rooms, bedrooms and lounges, finally ending at an outdoor patio.

Meeting demands for a more tactile design experience, the showroom offers a curated library of complimentary swatches and materials, as well as design consultations with in-house experts ranging from floor plans and color palettes to material selections for both homeowners and trade professionals alike.

While the showroom serves as a space for in-person shopping, the West Hollywood store is also set to serve as a gathering point for the design community and will come to host programming, like launch events, brand collaborations and designer-led panels.

The opening comes just after Lulu and Georgia’s redesign on the Duke event space at the Sunset Tower Hotel.

The Lulu and Georgia showroom is located at 8735 Melrose Ave. It is open Monday–Saturday, 10 a.m.– 6 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m.– 5 p.m.
