What better place to honor the Day of the Dead than one of the most beautiful memorial parks in the county? Four of Forest Lawn Memorial Parks are holding special Día de los Muertos celebrations, including their Glendale location on Sunday, November 1, from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
By Melanie Hooks
For each of the four events, marigolds, handcrafted Catrina and alebrijes (spirit guide) artworks and brightly colored community ofrendas (altars) will transform the Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks into radiant and majestic spaces for remembrance.
Folklórico dance and mariachi music performances, arts & crafts, face painting, food, and refreshments will set a lively backdrop for the community to savor the holiday, light candles, place photographs and mementos on altars, and retell stories that keep the memories of generations of loved ones alive.
The free, family-friendly events will take place on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Forest Lawn’s Covina Hills, Cypress, and Glendale locations, and on Monday, November 2, 2026, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Forest Lawn-Cathedral City.
