At a press conference Friday morning, officials provided an update on the fire and urged residents to be prepared to evacuate.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has stepped up patrols in the evacuation area. Sheriff Robert Luna had a warning for anyone looking to burglarize empty homes.
“If you think you’re going to come in and take advantage of these poor folks who have been asked to evacuate or don’t have power, you’re going to run into deputies who aren’t in uniform and who are just out there specifically looking for that challenge,” Luna said.
