SAN JOSE, Calif. —
A Cessna plane crash-landed on Capitol Expressway, one of San Jose’s busiest streets, on Saturday after the pilot reported engine failure, according to air traffic control recordings.
The aircraft, owned and operated by Flying 20, an independent flying club, ended up nose down and tail up on the roadway. The three people inside were not seriously hurt.
Neighbors living just yards from the crash site described the crash as a close call.
“We live with the constant fear of another airplane flying into our community and crashing,” resident Maria Reyes said.
The Federal Aviation Administration said it is now investigating the crash.
