Lower Polk is packed with various bars, restaurants, and music venues, including the popular Swan Oyster Depot Co. and the Regency Ballroom, which regularly hosts major concerts. This weekend, Lower Polk is hosting a free street festival with music, dancing, art, and community fun. The free street festival will start Friday afternoon and is the perfect way to start the weekend.
Lower Polk Live!
This weekend, Lower Polk will shut down two blocks on Polk Street for a free street festival with live music, artists, and more. The free party will run from 4 to 9 pm on Friday, October 23, on Polk between Bush and Sutter.
The free block party will feature local performers Top Chefs, JP Breganza, and Kendo the DJ, while you learn about turntables from Scratchfight. Plus, local line dancing group Westside Steppaz will lead soul line dancing and stepping during the event. Attendees can also expect local art at the party.
The block party is free and open to all ages, but adults 21 and over can check out local bars in the area after the party ends at 9 pm. There are multiple bars within walking distance of the street festival, such as the Art Deco bar Deco Dance, or you can enjoy unique cocktails at Hi-Lo Club. There are also plenty of restaurants on the street if you want to grab a bite during the free street festival.
The block party is hosted by the Lower Polk Community Benefit District, which is a neighborhood nonprofit that hosts events, community cleanups, and more.
