Just before 9:45 a.m., officers with the Sacramento Police Department attempted to pull a car over, but the driver refused. Officers then began pursuing the car, but stopped because the suspect was driving too dangerously, Sacramento police said.
Later, a motorcycle officer tried to pull the suspect’s car over once again. This time, police said the suspect “intentionally” drove their car into the officer. The driver then tried and failed to hit a police vehicle and a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office vehicle. The police vehicle was transporting a person at the time.
Officers successfully stopped the juvenile suspect’s car near North B and 7th streets. The driver was detained and sent to a hospital to treat minor injuries. Afterward, police will book them on charges related to the chase and striking an officer.
No deputies or officers were injured, Sacramento police said.
